Kate is a family law solicitor, and has been with Trethowans since June 2014. She was promoted to an Associate in May 2016. Prior to joining the Firm, Kate trained at a regional practice in Surrey and was inducted into their family law department in September 2012. Before this, Kate studied for a BA in History at the University of Leeds, and obtained an LLB from The College of Law in Guildford.
Since qualifying as a solicitor, Kate has developed an expertise in the world of family law, advising clients on a number of complex matters, including separation, divorce, finance issues for married and unmarried couples, and matters involving children.
Kate is also a member of Resolution – a national organisation of family lawyers committed to resolving issues in a sensitive and non-confrontational way. Separation or divorce is a stressful time for clients, and Kate is a firm advocate of this more constructive approach, which helps alleviate tension and achieve the best outcomes for all involved.
Clients have described Kate as offering ‘firm and clear advice’, as well as being an ‘excellent adviser’ and ‘very sensitive’. A large number of Kate’s clients have affirmed they would not hesitate to recommend her services to others.
